Photos from the Delaware River Sojourn Kayak Trip

About 60 paddlers (experienced and newbies!) kayaked on the Tidal Delaware River Water Trail as part of the 16th Annual Delaware River Sojourn.

On Friday, June 25th, Sojourners paddled from Palmyra Cove Nature Park (Palmyra, NJ), up river with the tide. After stops at Taylor Wildlife Preserve and Amico Island, sojourners paddled with the changing tide back to Palmyra Cove.

On Saturday, June 26th, Sojourners began their journey in West Deptford, NJ and paddled upstream with the tide. After a stop in Gloucester City to learn about the ongoing revitalization of this historic riverfront city and a tour of the tallship Northwind, sojourners continued paddling into the heart of Philadelphia and Camden. The tour ended in Wiggins Park Marina.

The Sojourn is a week's worth of paddling and camping opportunities that showcases the best of the Delaware River's history, ecology and culture. Visit www.delawareriversojourn.org to learn how you can participate in 2011.
