Vote for the Delaware River as the 2011 Pennsylvania River of the Year! The River of the Year is an annual recognition by PA DCNR that helps raise awareness about the importance of rivers, their conservation needs, and their recreational and economic impact on watershed communities. The Delaware Sojourn Steering Committee and the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) have partnered to nominate the Delaware, and we are pleased to announce that the Delaware is one of the 6 finalists!

Tidal Delaware River Ambassadors needed!

PEC is looking for about 20 leaders to becoming Tidal Delaware River Ambassadors who will help increase recreational use and stewardship of the Tidal Delaware River.

Ambassadors COULD:

• Lead kayaking, sailing or motor boating trips
• Organize cleanups at a boat launch or riverfront park
• Conduct training for paddling skills, navigation skills, photograph, geocaching or other activities
• Host fishing derbies or angler training
• Make presentations to boat clubs or host a table at community events and boat shows

Ambassadors will decide how they want to lend their time and talent to the program.
